IDENTIFY

Frequently, certain commands within ChanServ require you to verify the fact that you have authorization to change things on your channel. This is a security function, and for your own protection. Below is the information on how you identify yourself, and other miscellaneous information regarding this command.

Identify

Usage:

/chanserv identify (channel) (password)

NOTE: you do not need to use parentheses.

Breakdown:

Channel
Substitute the channel name, for example #dragonrealm here.

Password
Think back to when you registered your channel. ChanServ asked you to write down your password - did you? If you did, do you still have it? If not, you need to find a services op, better known as a csop, to find your password for you. If you do have it, insert it here. For the sake of this example, refer to the registration page where #dragonrealm was registered with the password PeNkA.
Examples:
/chanserv identify #dragonrealm PeNkA
This command, when completed successfully, would have ChanServ reply as such:
-ChanServ- Password accepted. You now have Founder access on channel #dragonrealm
Extra Notes:
If you can't remember your password, you should talk to a services op, or CSop. To get a listing of them, you can type /motd services.* or you can ask in #OperHelp if you can't find one.
