DROP

Dropping a channel means giving up "ownership" and ChanServ will no longer have control over it. Below you can find out how to drop your channel, and any other miscellaneous information about this particular function of Services.

Drop

Usage:

/chanserv drop (channel)

NOTE: you do not need to use parentheses.

Breakdown:

Channel
Substitute the channel name, for example #dragonrealm here.

Examples:
/chanserv drop #dragonrealm
This command, when completed successfully, would have ChanServ reply as such:
-ChanServ- ChanServ management of #dragonrealm stopped -ChanServ- Change will become permanent at next database sync in 20 minute(s)
Extra Notes:
- If ChanServ replies:
  -ChanServ- Password authentication required for that command: -ChanServ- Retry after typing /msg ChanServ identify #dragonrealm*<password>
  You need to enter the password for the channel. See the help for the command identify for more help if you need it.
- As noted above, you need the channel password to drop a channel. Generally only the founder has that information (and technically, ONLY the founder should have that information), so usually only the founder can drop the channel. If for some reason you have a password to a channel and you are NOT the founder, do NOT drop the channel.
