This FAQ consists of answers to several frequently asked questions on the IRC newsgroups and the IRC Network help channels.
3.1 - Where can I find out more about BBSnet?
BBSnet's website can be found at:
http://bbsnet.thebbs.org
3.2 - Where can I find an IRC client?
You can find a list of IRC clients, with a review of each, in our Clients section.
Other sites you might want to try would be http://www.tucows.com or http://www.cwsapps.com or ftp.cs-pub.bu.edu/pub/irc/clients
3.3 - Where can I find an IRC operator?
You can get the assistance of an IRCop (IRC operator) in #BBS; simply type /join #BBS. The IRCop whill have an '@' sign next to their nickname, signifying a channel op. Please wait patiently for help, as they are often quite busy.
If you cannot find anyone in #BBS, try typing /who 0 o. This will give you a list of IRCops who aren't currently set +i (invisible) - beware though that all in all likelihood msg'ing someone from this list will not ensure a reply.
If you need to regain a password that you have somehow lost, typing /motd services.* will bring up a list of all of BBSnet's CSops (Chat Service Operators). If you cannot find anyone from this list online, #BBS is a good place to look.
