BBSnet is a small IRC (Internet Relay Chat) network, without a lot of policies and rules found on the larger networks. It was created for BBS (Bulletin Board Systems) operators to allow their users to chat with other BBS users across the world. There have been other BBS IRC networks, such as Sysopnet and Blacknet, but their policies and politics drove many good people away. There are larger networks such as EfNet, Dalnet and Undernet with BBS related channels, but they only allow Unix type servers to connect. BBSnet is an open minded and open policys network. The rules are simple and few. You are welcome to idle without being kicked. Anyone with a static IP can run a BBSnet server, even if they run Windows.BBSnet allows people all over the world to chat with each other, usually either free or only at the cost of a local phone call.
